RISE! Resource Locator 1.1.0

The RISE app was developed by students, faculty, and leadership from Mesa Community College's mobile app development program with the aim of connecting Maricopa County Community College District students with accessible food, shelter, and healthcare options.

This application is catered to a diverse user base and can be seamlessly integrated with other community college systems and higher education institutions to effectively link students and community members with essential resources that support their academic journey and beyond.

Utilizing keyword searches, the app identifies and marks nearby resources on a map. Users have the flexibility to manually input, relocate, and modify private markers for resources not currently available in Apple Maps. Additionally, custom search filters can be tailored to include or exclude specific keywords, enhancing search accuracy within local areas.

By adding custom markers via RISE, users can personalize their resource database without having the information shared on Apple Maps, while ensuring synchronization across devices linked to the local iCloud account.

For businesses or community resources interested in granting public access to RISE through a Kiosk setup, the app offers a Kiosk Mode feature that restricts administrative functions. It is recommended that organizations looking to implement Kiosk Mode consult their IT departments for guidance on enabling Single App Mode for Mobile Device Management (MDM) deployment on iPads.
